Abstract. Given an isosceles triangle and its circumcircle, we construct a
chord parallel to the base so that the endpoints and the intersections with the
other two sides of the triangle are divided in the golden ratio. This
generalizes results of Hagge and Odom for equilateral
triangles, and Tran for a "half-square". We apply this construction
to an isosceles triangle formed by two consecutive sides of a regular n-gon.
