Abstract. We consider the Fermat configuration generated
by a point on a circle over the side of a
rectangle. When the ratio of the rectangle's
sides is sqrt 2, then many properties do
not depend on a position of the point. Some
properties hold for all ratios and other
ratios can also have interesting geometric
consequences. Our proofs use analytic
geometry but some parts include also synthetic
arguments.
